2009 Spring Board Minutes
Trowbridge/Leek Lake Association Board Meeting Minutes: 4/25/09
Present: Mike Jahnke, Al Sather, Brian Langager, Chuck Myrbach, Sue Baker
Al and Chuck presented information collected from the county including Trowbridge/Leek Lakes maps with corresponding property owners to be used in compiling our directory.
Discussed the possibility of Lake Ida being invited to join our Association.
Mike agreed to contact Roger Lill, a lake property owner and owner of Midwest Printing regarding printing our directory.
Mike announced that the Trowbridge Camp has been reserved for our general meeting on Saturday, June 13. We agreed to hold a continental breakfast (rolls, coffee, juice) at 8:30 AM, followed by the business meeting from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. The reasoning behind the time change and simplification of the breakfast menu was that in order to attract more members, we needed to minimize the amount of time spent in food preparation, plus time spent in the meeting, allowing members more time to spend with family and friends. It was suggested that if some of the members wished to organize a social event such as a picnic, it could be arranged at another date. Mike agreed to contact someone from the DNR regarding a possible speaker for the June 13 meeting.
Chuck discussed the desire of Gerry Richard to set up his camera on the lake so it could be used for members to access lake information on the internet during the winter months, etc.
Chuck and Sue agreed to work together preparing reminder post cards, followed by welcome letters containing new membership forms.
Discussed steps to follow to design and print a Lakes directory, including selling ads on a limited basis to vendors, etc., mostly in the Vergas area. Our hope is to have a directory printed in time for distribution
Discussed organizing beach captains to contact potential members in designated areas. Beach captains would serve for 3 years and be welcomed to attend at least one board meeting per year.
Agreed that the By-laws need to be updated and will introduce proposed changes at the general meeting for approval.
The July 4th boat parade was set for 11 AM and will not be limited to only decorated units.
