As part of Minnesota Waters’ efforts to provide connections between citizen groups working on water issues around the state, Minnesota Waters strives to meet with each regional COLA (Coalition of Lake Associations) and LARA (Lake and River Association) during each calendar year.

These meetings help build MN Waters’ awareness of regional issues and specific challenges faced by citizen groups in each region. This information helps guide our service offerings and advocacy work throughout the state.

The meetings also inform regional groups about what Minnesota Waters is doing around the state, the services we provide to citizen groups, and the trends and policies we’re seeing at the statewide level.

Meetings usually consist of a presentation by Minnesota Waters’ Executive Director at a regularly scheduled meeting of the regional group, and a discussion with group leaders. MN Waters can tailor our presentation to meet specific information needs of the group.

MN Waters sends out an invitation to meet to all COLA and LARA contacts early in the calendar year.
