LOON LAKE ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S MEETING
NOVEMBER 2, 2013
The meeting was called to order by President Bill Omdalen.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Paul Larson, Rick Nelson, Tom Heng
SYBIL LAKE ROAD CULVERT REPLACEMENT: At their October 2013 meeting, the Hobart Township board approved the installation of a larger culvert on Sybil Lake Road as recommended by the study done in 2011 by the DNR and a corresponding study done by the Loon Lake Association together with the Sybil Lake Association. It was determined the gate valves specified in the study would not be required. At the Hobart Township board meeting Scott Lovaasen, president of the Sybil Lake Association and I, president of the Loon Lake Association, signed a letter, composed by Paul Bruhn, which requested the replacement culvert on Sybil Lake Road be installed the fall of 2013. However, the Hobart Township board wants to wait until the county replaces the exit culvert on Long Lake, whick is planned for late spring or early summer 2014.
BUOY PLACEMENT AND REPAIR: Rick Nelson volunteered to coordinate the placement and removal of the buoys on Loon Lake. A few of the buoys are in need of repair or replacement.
LOON LAKE ACCESS: Tom Heng presented an e-mail from the DNR with respect to relocating the big rocks that are between East Loon and Sperling Bay (public access to Loon Lake is located on Sperling Bay). Tom’s wife had made a request of the DNR about this. The DNR indicated a permit would need to be applied for and the Loon Lake Association would be required to fund the project.
